Role Overview

As a Director within our Capital Markets team, you will play a pivotal role in driving cross-border investment strategies and delivering exceptional client service across the region. This senior position involves advising clients on acquisitions, dispositions, and capital raising across all asset classes.

You will collaborate closely with regional and global teams to leverage Savills' extensive network, providing market insights, structuring complex transactions, and building long-term client relationships. A key part of this role is identifying new business opportunities and contributing to the continued growth of Savills' Capital Markets platform.

This role requires a strategic thinker with deep knowledge of real estate markets, in particular, Australia, investment trends, cross border capital flows and strong client relationships within the industry.

1. Capital Market Transactions

  • Lead and manage significant capital markets transactions across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, with a primary focus on high-value transactions in Australia. Take responsibility for key sectors including office, retail, industrial & logistics, living, healthcare, education, and alternative assets.
  • Drive both on and off-market transactions, working with a diverse range of property sectors in Australia. This includes advising clients on acquisitions, disposals, and portfolio strategies, providing expert guidance throughout the entire deal lifecycle.
  • Serve as the point of contact for global capital, fostering strong relationships with global investors and facilitating cross-border investments. Support investors looking to enter or expand their footprint in the Australian market by offering deep market insights and strategic advice.
  • Strategise on capital structuring and finance solutions, ensuring transactions meet the needs of both local and cross-border investors.

2. Capital Advisory

  • Provide expert strategic advice on cross-border investment opportunities in Australian real estate, guiding clients through the complexities of international investment strategies, tax regulations, and financial considerations.
  • Offer bespoke capital raising services, advising clients on how to best structure their strategies to optimise success when undertaking capital raising processes. Develop tailored capital solutions for clients across various sectors, including institutional investors, sovereign wealth funds, and high-net-worth individuals.
  • Identify and target potential investors, leveraging a network of institutional capital, private equity firms, sovereign wealth funds, and high-net-worth / family offices. Assist these groups in identifying high-potential investment opportunities.
  • Understand and convey key market trends and analysis to help clients understand macroeconomic trends, market shifts, and investment opportunities within Australia, ensuring that investors can make well-informed decisions.

3. Investor Relationships

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key investors, developers, and institutional clients, cultivating trust and credibility to become the go-to advisor for cross-border investment opportunities in the region.
  • Foster ongoing relationships with global capital partners, including family offices, institutional investors, and key industry players. Through these existing relationships, work to unlock new opportunities for clients and enhance business development prospects.
  • Lead client meetings and presentations, maintaining communication with senior stakeholders to ensure that all parties are aligned on investment strategies and deliverables. Deliver insightful market analysis and thought leadership to help clients make informed investment decisions.
  • Manage a portfolio of investor relationships, ensuring that clients' needs are met, act as a trusted advisor, offering insights into global market trends, local regulations, and capital flows.

4. Collaboration and Leadership

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across APAC, including investment, research, and advisory teams, to deliver integrated real estate solutions. Leverage internal resources to provide comprehensive services to investors, ensuring a holistic approach to capital raising, market entry, and asset management.
  • Lead project teams and initiatives, driving alignment between local offices, senior leadership, and external stakeholders to ensure the timely delivery of key projects and investment opportunities.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members, sharing expertise and insights into cross-border investment strategies, capital market trends, and the intricacies of structuring complex deals. Develop talent within the team to support long-term growth and success.
  • Provide thought leadership in the cross-border capital market space, positioning Savills as a leading authority in capital markets advisory and investment in the APAC region. Share insights through industry reports, client presentations, and public speaking engagements.
  • Maintain awareness of local and international market trends, regulatory changes, and macroeconomic factors that could impact capital flows, investment strategies, and asset values, ensuring the company's offerings remain ahead of the curve.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Real Estate, Business, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience (8+ years) in capital markets, investment management, investor relations, or related roles within the real estate industry.
  • Extensive experience in Australian Real Estate.
  • In-depth knowledge of real estate sectors, including office, retail, industrial, logistics, healthcare, education, and alternative assets.
  • Track record of working as part of a Global Capital Markets team with a focus on cross border transactions.
  • Track record of developing and building relationships with key industry partners, family office, high net worth and institutional investors.
  • Strong network of client and capital relationships across Singapore and Australia.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to lead client engagements and collaborate with internal teams.
