Position Overview:

MTBM Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Microtunnelling Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will plan and manage microtunnelling projects, ensuring safe and efficient tunnel installation. This role combines technical expertise, project management skills, and effective problem-solving abilities on-site.

Project Planning and Design:

  • Create detailed designs for microtunnelling projects, including tunnel alignment, equipment, and material specifications.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments to assess geological and environmental conditions.
  • Work with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to align project goals with technical requirements.

Execution and Oversight:

  • Oversee microtunnelling operations, ensuring safety and quality standards are met, and compliance with procedures.
  • Manage the setup and operation of microtunnelling boring machines (MTBM).
  • Generate preconstruction documents such as Method Statements and SWP.
  • Track project progress, make necessary adjustments, and address on-site challenges promptly.

Technical Analysis:

  • Support geotechnical analysis and review soil investigation reports to identify risks.

Compliance and Documentation:

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, local regulations, and environmental guidelines.
  • Prepare technical reports, as-built records, and project summaries.
  • Participate in risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.

Stakeholder Communication:

  • Serve as the technical contact for clients and stakeholders.
  • Provide regular updates on timelines, deliverables, and project milestones.

Qualifications:

  • A Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in microtunnelling, trenchless technology, or related underground construction.
  • Strong understanding of microtunnelling boring machines (MTBM), guidance systems, and pertinent equipment.
  • Familiarity with geotechnical investigations.
  • Proficient in engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD).
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
