ProjectTitle: Climate Change and MentalHealth

ProjectIntroduction: The Climate Transformation Programme (CTP)aims to develop, inspire and accelerate knowledge-based solutionsand educate future leaders to establish the stable climate andenvironment necessary for resilient, just, and sustainableSoutheast Asian societies. Climate change is a physical andenvironmental event with significant psychological impacts becomingmore salient. Climate change events constitute a new source ofstressors that individuals have to cope with, both psychologicallyand practically in their daily lives. Climate action as a behaviorhas been considered a coping strategy by many researchers. Thepurpose of this project is to investigate the range of climateaction among students of tertiary education institutions inSingapore and determine their psychological effects. In this study,the research staff will be involved in the implementation andreporting of a series of studies, including surveys and evaluationtrials.

Requirements:
  • Masterdegree from a reputable university in the areas of Clinical,Counseling, School, or Educational Psychology, Public Health,Social Work, or related disciplines. Applicants with a PhD degreemay be considered for the position of ResearchFellow.
  • At least 3-5 years of relevant researchexperience, including scholarly writing, data analyses, and supportgrant application. Experience in implementing intervention studiesand large-scale surveys will beadvantageous.
  • Advanced statistical skills inmultivariate analyses for intervention and longitudinaldataset.
  • Excellent writing and communicationskills.
  • Experience in supervision ofstudents.
  • Scholarly pursuits and interest inresearch areas such as thefollowing:
    • Psychological aspects ofclimate change
    • Impact of socio-political andcultural factors in climate change attitudes andbehaviors
    • Theoretical conceptualizations ofstress, coping, and resilience
    • Development andimplementation of primary prevention programmes for promotingpsychologicalwell-being
  • Positive workattitudes - independent, efficient, andresponsible.
  • Commitment to complete thecontract.


Responsibilities:
  • Engagein extensive scholarly writing (literature reviews, projectreports, manuscripts, conference presentationsetc.).
  • Conduct a range of statistical analyses,including SEM and longitudinalanalyses.
  • Independently propose and executeresearch agenda based on the project.
  • Organizeconsultations with overseas collaborators and recruit theirinvolvement at different phases of theproject.
  • Implement a range of projects,including large-scale surveys, intervention trials, and qualitativestudies.
  • Manage project administrations andlogistics, including data management and adherence of IRBprocedures.
  • Disseminate research findingsthrough presentations and interactions with students, researchers,and higher education authorities.
  • Engage intraining relevant to the project.
  • Superviseresearch project team members.
  • Engage inresearch tasks as assigned by thePI
