The Lee Kuan Yew Centre for Innovative Cities at the Singapore University of Technology and Design is seeking a full-time Research Fellow or Research Associate to join a growing research team dedicated to understanding human behavior in cities.
Successful applicants will contribute to a research program that explores the intersection of human behavior, urban design, technology, and livability. The program tackles critical questions about how cities shape people’s behaviors and, in turn, how cities should be designed to better serve their inhabitants.
Candidates should possess a strong interest in applying a human lens to transdisciplinary and collaborative research. Expertise in quantitative research methods and a background in social and/or behavioral science will be a plus.
This position is ideal for individuals interested in pursuing an academically grounded, applied research career.
The candidate will be expected to:
Conduct and write literature reviews
Participate in fieldwork and data collection
Contribute towards research conceptualization and methodology
Assist in the preparation of manuscripts and reports for publications
Collaborate and communicate research updates with both internal and external stakeholders
Skills and qualifications required:
Obtained or expected Masters degree (for Research Associate) or Ph D degree (for Research Fellow) related to the social sciences or behavioral sciences (e.g., Psychology, Behavioral Economics, Urban Studies, or related disciplines)
Demonstrable skills in quantitative and/or qualitative data collection and analysis
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and data management skills
Proficiency with statistical software (e.g., R, STATA, SPSS, MPlus) is a plus
Familiarity with Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality and/or neuroscience (e.g., f NIRS) research is a plus
