We are hiring for an Accountant position at a leading commodity trading MNC. The role involves performing accounting and reporting duties for the Singapore office, ensuring compliance with procedures, local regulations, and various standards such as Tax, SOX, IFRS/FRS, and Statutory audit requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of budget, management and other internal reports
  • Variance analysis of the various monthly/quarterly overhead costs and during budgeting process, using graphs, charts and pivot tables
  • Involve in internal and external audits. Assist in preparing documents for annual audits and liaising with auditors. Month-end, quarter-end, financial year-end, and statutory audit
  • Check and post approved invoices and employee claims accurately and timely
  • Ensure costs allocation ratio is up to date for different business segments and trading books
  • Record all general administration costs and justify accruals
  • Monitor inter-company re-invoicing transactions for accuracy
  • Prepare tax computation, GST returns, and reports required under company's membership
  • Coordinate and prepare re-invoicing and issuance of invoices and debit/credit notes for intercompany charges across different group affiliates
  • Reconcile inter-company transactions between Singapore office and other affiliate entities/banks
  • Record and declare GST and Withholding tax for general administration to Singapore tax authority (IRAS)
  • Complete surveys from Government authorities within specified deadline
  • Communicate with HQ office for financial reporting guidance and sharing; and with external parties such as auditors, tax advisors, and Government authorities
  • Ensure accounting and reporting meet the requirements and compliance with many regulations within strict deadlines

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy or Equivalent with 3 year’s experiences in overheads accounting
  • CPA, CA or ACCA is required
  • Strong Excel and VBA proficiency is a must
  • knowledge on SAP and BI tools (Power BI)
  • Commercially focused and flexible individual
  • Ability to cope well with stress in a fast-paced environment and multi-task
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
