Purpose

The UAS Advancement Office (UAO) is responsible for the fund-raising programmes and initiatives of the University of the Arts Singapore (UAS).

The UAO raises donors’ awareness of the University’s vision and mission, and financial resources needed to help create and sustain opportunities that advance innovative and socially impactful arts education. It establishes meaningful connections and cultivate long-term relationships with donors to fulfil their philanthropic goals.

The Deputy Director, UAO, oversees the UAO and reports to the Director, Planning & Development.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

The position holder plays a proactive role in seeking support and buiding strong working relationships with multiple UAS’ stakeholders and will lead the UAO in the following:

Devise, implement, and evaluate fundraising programmes to ensure financial goals are met

Research on and identify potential donors, and design and implement processes to cultivate and engage donors effectively

Develop and manage donor relations, including meaningful and effective communication, recognition, and stewardship

Plan and organise all fundraising activities, including marketing and fundraising-related communications

Develop fundraising materials with support from the Communication team.

Ensure UAS fundraising initiatives are compliant with the regulatory environment

Prepare and share reports for donors and stakeholders

Undertakes and performs other duties as assigned

This is a 2-year contract position.

Requirements

Relevant fund raising experience (in a supervisory role), preferably in an Institute of Higher Learning

Strong ability to think critically and analytically, with a keen eye for detail.

Intellectual curiosity, with strong interest in developments in higher education and tertiary arts education.

Good interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset, as well as stakeholder engagement skills.

Commitment to respect and maintain confidentiality of donor information.

Excellent written and oral communication skills: the ability to interact with a variety of people and clearly convey information in writing and in person; Proven project management skills.

The ability to develop a strong sense of co-ownership and work effectively in a team environment as well as take initiative independently.

Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
