Who we are:

The Product Strategy Office’s mission is to enable GovTech to build great products, at scale, to maximise the public good. We chart GovTech’s overall product and corporate direction to solve national priority problems, act as a consultant for GovTech’s products, and do whatever it takes, which could include getting our hands dirty with POCs, to validate and execute our product strategy.

The role of a Manager/ Senior Manager/Assistant Director offers an opportunity to develop and execute the government’s overall product portfolio strategy, making an impact on the public good at scale.

What you will be working on :

This role sits at the intersection of, and the candidate can expect to be involved in:

  • VC, corporate strategy and organisational development. The candidate can expect to drive the development of an overall product strategy in terms of what GovTech should build. He/she will learn different frameworks of how to invest and fund products, and setting up the right corporate and systemic structures to drive towards the strategy
  • Improving products. The candidate will work as a consultant to sharpen product thinking and co-create go-to-market plans to improve product efficiency, doing user research, writing case studies, and performing POCs/POVs to validate hypotheses
  • Bottom-up policy development. The candidate will have the opportunity to amplify best practices, when proven out, to the organisational, and whole-of-government level. This can include reviewing funding frameworks and regulations to unblock obstacles while encouraging greater innovation

This is an individual contributor position and the candidate will report directly to the Director of Product Strategy and Ops.

What we are looking for:

  • Technical knowledge in product management, including discerning realistic technical requirements and setting the right outcome metrics
  • Bias towards action and relentlessly resourceful in getting things done
  • Strong communicator in written, slides or spoken form, with good stakeholdering skills
  • Energised by big problem spaces and able to break it down into workable chunks
  • VC, corporate/business strategy, government experience a plus
