Roles & Responsibilities

Assist Chef in managing the kitchen, food preparation, supplies ordering and kitchen staff for general food service and functions


Kitchen Operation

· Ensure kitchen operations are carried smoothly and effectively

· Check the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that standards are met

· Instruct cooks in the preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food

· Order food and other supplies needed to ensure efficient operation

· Check the quantity and quality of received products

· Responsible for inventory management to reduce wastage and maximize profitability


Hygiene and Workplace

· Ensure kitchen cleanliness, food hygiene and kitchen safety practice

· Ensure food handling, sanitation practices and hygiene regulations are followed in accordance to regulations


Equipment Management

· Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs

· Inspect equipment, work areas and general supplies to ensure conformance to established health and safety standards


People Management

· Supervise and coordinate activities of kitchen staff

· Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to staff

· Determine production schedules and staff requirements necessary to ensure timely delivery of services


Administration

· Assist Chef in kitchen administration duties

· Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors
