Duties:

  • Work as part of a NIST team to execute Red Team operations on base AI models and production AI systems using real world adversarial tactics and techniques to identify failures, vulnerabilities, and potential misuses
  • Develop tools and techniques to scale and accelerate offensive emulation and vulnerability discovery specific for AI systems
  • Refine and develop new redteaming and safetyandsecurity evaluation products, workflows, tools, and automated scripts.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of controls and safeguards to enable responsible use of models
  • Stay uptodate with the latest research on new and emerging threats, as well as promising advancements in AI safety, to continuously adapt and improve techniques of redteaming and evaluation
  • Establish practices with coding standards, workflows, tools, and product automation

Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:

Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate.

For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.
