Your day to day


Responsible for the managing HR administration responsibilities and supporting the full spectrum of HR functions including but not limited to recruitment, onboarding, administration, compensation and benefits, training and employee relations.


Financial Returns

  • Manage costs and expenses incurred for order of stationary and office supplies necessary for recruitment, employee relations and training
  • Manage employee benefit administration (i.e. dental, insurance claims & follow ups)
  • Ensure timely and accuracy of all leave accruals
  • Assist with monthly payroll

Guest Experience

  • Be familiar with Hotel brand and share it with new hires during orientations and students on a site visit
  • Assist in site inspections for schools, colleges, and universities
  • Support the administration of the Employee Recognition program

People

  • Ensure colleagues and managers are aware of HR policies and procedures
  • Ensure recruitment and selection is adhered to by IHG standards and compliant with the Employment Act
  • Correct and timely placement of internal and external advertisements for operational positions (Band 710) using various portals
  • Conduct interviews & reference checks for operational positions (Band 710)
  • Adherence to new hire checklist ensuring that all tools and equipment and necessary briefing is carried out
  • Ensure timely and accurate update of employee details into the HR system
  • Ensure timely and accurate update of Hotel's organization chart
  • Work with department heads on employees' probationary assessments and confirmation
  • Prepare letters for promotions, transfers, acceptance of resignation & employment certificates
  • Conduct exit interviews and provide feedback on reasons for turnover
  • Assist with employee relations issues in a confidential manner, including disciplinary and employee grievances.
  • Prepare month end reports such as Annual Leave balance, Headcount, Turnover
  • Assist to drive welfare and recreation activities for the colleagues
  • Assist to coordinate and conduct Hotel Orientation for new colleagues and other training initiatives and administration
  • Manage parttime and casual labour recruitment, administration and onboarding
  • Ensure regular updates of Employee Heart of House
  • Maintenance of Employee Personal Files

Responsible Business

  • Support and implement IHG's responsible business initiatives, developing programmes to support corporate social responsibility
  • Liaison with agencies and hotel schools for internships
  • Coordinate work experience programs
  • Supports and ensures 100% compliance in Brand Standards, Finance & HR Audits

Accountability
You will act as a HR business partner for both colleagues and managers in the Hotel.

This requires close relationship with Department Heads and line managers to support their departmental goals through effective recruitment and retention strategies, performance management and leveraging on internal programmes and policies.

You will also help to create a desired work culture around our Winning Ways of the IHG and embrace the IHG Commitment.


What we need from you

  • Diploma or equivalent in Business Administration, Human Resources or Training
  • At least 2 years of experience in managing the full spectrum of HR
  • Proficient in Microsoft
  • Team player and excellent communication skills written and spoken
  • Positive attitude
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment
  • Flexible to respond to a range of different work situations
  • Knowledge of Employment Act will be advantageous
