The Future Ready Food Safety Hub (FRESH) is the go-to scientific platform in Singapore as part of the Singapore Food Story R&D Programme. Its main goal is to bring together experts to enhance Singapore's food safety capabilities and boost its food industry. FRESH focuses on research, talent development, and promoting local food standards globally. Partnered with the Singapore Food Agency (SFA), A*STAR, and NTU, FRESH plays a key role in advancing food safety science in the region.

The Research Engineer I, Regulatory Science role is pivotal in supporting FRESH's research efforts on food safety regulations in Asia. Ideal for individuals with a passion for desk-based research, strong scientific acumen, experience in systematic reviews, and an interest in developing regulatory guidance. This position collaborates closely with the FRESH Director to create essential documents and sector insights, aiding stakeholders and contributing to FRESH's regulatory consulting capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct systematic reviews and intelligence scanning on food safety regulations
  • Create guidance documents and scientific reviews on key food safety topics
  • Support clients in data sourcing for regulatory purposes
  • Develop and maintain a knowledge base on food safety regulations
  • Assist in safety assessments and regulatory tasks
  • Collaborate with international regulatory bodies
  • Provide administrative support for FRESH operations

Job Requirements:

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in food science or related field
  • Experience in food legislation, regulatory affairs, and quality assurance
  • Industry experience in food safety is beneficial
  • Knowledge of food regulations in Asia and quality management systems
  • Strong time management and multitasking abilities
  • Highly motivated with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Customer service-oriented and adaptable to diverse environments
  • Effective communication skills for stakeholder engagement
