The Centre for Lifelong Learning and Individualised Cognition (CLIC) invites applications for the position of Research Engineer I.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate in the development of web applications for cognitive science research Engage closely with cognitive science researchers to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the research objectives and translate them into well-designed and implemented features Collaborate with the research team to evaluate and validate the tasks through user testing and data analysis Participate actively in code reviews, offering valuable feedback to ensure high code quality and adherence to best practices Identify and resolve application issues efficiently, utilizing debugging techniques and providing timely resolutions Conduct thorough testing to guarantee the performance, reliability, and security of the developed applications

Job Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field Proven experience in app programming, with a solid understanding of Proficiency in using web servers, specifically Nginx, to deploy and manage applications Strong knowledge of database management systems, particularly MongoDB, for efficient data storage and retrieval Familiarity with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript Solid understanding of API development and integration Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development methodologies Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and communicate effectively Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Excellent time management and organizational skills
