Roles & Responsibilities

Main Objective of the Position:

  • Responsible for developing and overseeing all portfolios offered by SJP AME Companies, aligned with the Group's Strategic Asset Allocation and Investment Management Approach to ensure a competitive investment offering for the Partnership and meeting client needs.
  • Leading the Asia Portfolio Management team, ensuring the necessary capabilities, processes, and infrastructure are in place to deliver strategies and performances that consider the interests of the key stakeholders of the AME companies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and structuring AME investment offerings according to the Group's Strategic Asset Allocation and Investment Management Approach to provide a competitive investment solution for the Partnership and address client requirements.
  • Overseeing AME portfolio construction processes and changes in the Asia and local investment committees.
  • Ensuring robust and disciplined processes are followed in the selection and construction of AME portfolios and funds backed by thorough research.
  • Monitoring investment performance and risks to meet client expectations with wealth management solutions.
  • Assessing market and product changes to determine implications for the Group's asset allocation and fund range extension.
  • Managing communication related to portfolio updates through client materials and advisor engagement.
  • Engaging with clients through meetings and webinars as a promoter of the SJP investment proposition.
  • Training AME Partnership to enhance their investment knowledge and capabilities.
  • Collaborating with AME Investment teams and partners to ensure synergy across the division and partnership base.
  • Oversight of IMA changes in Asia through various working groups and departments.
  • Integrating Environmental, Social, and Governance considerations into the AME Investment Proposition.
  • Promoting Diversity & Inclusion within the team environment.

Requirements:

People Management:

  • Leading the AME Portfolio Management team to foster growth and expertise in portfolio construction.
  • Collaborating with AME Investment colleagues to achieve division objectives.
  • Working closely with Group stakeholders on AME investment strategies.
  • Supporting Partners to enhance their business and FUM in AME.

Job Knowledge:

  • Degree in Economics, Banking and Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Understanding of investment portfolio construction and investment products in Asia and the Middle East.
  • Familiarity with regulatory environments in Hong Kong, Singapore, or Dubai.
  • Knowledge of global financial markets and the ability to communicate effectively to partners and clients.
  • Familiarity with the SJP Investment Management Approach and presentation skills.

SJP Business Expertise:

  • Understanding of how SJP's Investment Management Approach fosters sustainable relationships and FUM growth.
  • Knowledge of the AME market and local proposition expansion.
  • Insight into wealth management sector and the role of SJP in providing advisory services.

Problem Solving:

  • Analytical skills for market and fund analyses.
  • Effective communication skills for client interactions.
  • Decision-making abilities for portfolio adjustments based on client needs and market changes.
  • Creativity to formulate evidence-backed opinions for partners and clients.
  • Identifying gaps in investment offerings for senior management alignment.
