The Opportunity


We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Head of Strategy, Architecture and Governance, to join our Group Technology team on a full-time basis.


Reporting to the Director of Technology, the primary purpose of this position is to establish and lead the architectural and governance frameworks within the organization.

This role is pivotal in developing a comprehensive architecture across multiple domains—including Enterprise, Data, Infrastructure, Application, and Solution—to support strategic initiatives and enhance solution development.

This position aims to transform the architecture into a value-adding, consultative capability that aligns with business objectives and accelerates IT deployment.


Overall, this position is designed to be a strategic leader, an innovator in IT architecture and governance, and a guardian of the organization's data integrity and financial accountability.


  • Key accountabilities include:_

Architecture:

  • Architecture is a new capability that has previously been done at a solution level and an aggregate level as needed. We would like to establish an architectural capability that is value adding (not academic) and is used to accelerate solution development, enable strategy, and be the basis for consultation with the business functions.

Strategy and Finance:

  • Lead the development of IT strategy engaging key business stakeholder and the IT LT as required
  • Owner and gatekeeper of IT business cases. Able to consult with the business on the development of businessled but ITenabled business cases, including AI use cases
  • Department finance aggregation of departmentwide budgets, actuals review and forecast management
Governance

  • Be the process owner for change control not the executor of. This would be the definer of processes, periodicity, detail, and assurance of this, as appropriate to the relevant change (we have an outline of this)
  • Be an expert on Computer System Validation including owning the delivery and coordination of new and periodically reviewed documentation

Data Management and Reporting:

  • Own and manage the data integration capability the centrepiece of this capability is Snowflake. This will include managing a pipeline of new integrations/connection that need to be taken through SDLC
  • Provide a 'relyupon reporting' where reports are developed via SDLC, maintained under change control, and connected to validated and controlled data sources
  • Provide support to businessled selfservice and ad hoc reporting these will not be considered 'relyupon' but may become extensive
Integration

  • Review existing EDI solutions and continuous improvements on existing EDI

About You


To be successful in this role, you will possess a relevant business-related Master's or bachelor's degree business, computer science, computer engineering with at least 10 years' of experience business experience in strategic and operations planning and/or business analysis.


  • Other key requirements for this role include: _
  • Knowledge of business models, operating models, financial models, costbenefit and tradeoff analysis, budgeting, and risk management.
  • Knowledge of business ecosystems, software as a service (SaaS), infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), SOA, APIs, open data, microservices, eventdriven IT and predictive analytics.
  • Familiarity with information management practices, system development life cycle management, IT services management, agile and lean methodologies, infrastructure and operations, and EA and ITIL frameworks.
  • Excellent analytical, planning and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate new ideas and concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Strong leadership skills, along with exceptional soft and interpersonal skills, including in teamwork, facilitation and negotiation.
