DEPARTMENT SUMMARY


To perform various types of controls mainly involving but not limited to automated reconciliations, manual and ad hoc reconciliation to control various events in the trade life cycle for Equity, Fixed income or other operational processes.

Overall, the function is responsible for the control needs of the Operations department.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

  • Daily Reconciliation of global bank accounts and internal accounts.
  • Investigation and follow up of all outstanding exceptions on reconciliations.
  • Perform TLM Position, transaction and Cash reconciliation.
  • Resolving any issues arising from reconciliation in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Timely escalation of exceptions and get it resolved by regular follow ups with related departments.
  • Working closely departments within CLSA to ensure follow up done and issues addressed to correct department and resolved.
  • Perform reporting, checks and reviews as required by the process.
  • Execute manual and ad hoc reconciliations to support operational teams as required.
  • Support the Risk and Controls function with reporting related deliverables.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor degree holder or above. Fresh graduates (Bachelor degree in Accounting/Finance) are welcome to apply.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) are a musthave.
  • Securities industry experience would be a plus.
  • Familiar with cash, stock, transaction and position reconciliation and reporting.
  • Experience in trade operations or controls and well versed with trade operations and lifecycle.
  • Ability to reconcile manually and design new reconciliations on automated platforms.
  • Detailoriented in his/her problemsolving and conceptualization approach.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office, especially Advanced MS Excel.
  • Equipped with reconciliation systems and basic accounting knowledge.
  • Hard working, with the ability to work independently.
  • A fast learner, who is willing to learn new skills and contribute to the growth of the department.
