Job Summary:

  • This job involves oversight of insurance policy administration to ensure effective and timely processing of new, renewal and endorsement business. You will lead a team, identify, and implement opportunities for efficiency improvements and manage the quality and service levels. You will utilize your knowledge of operational systems, workflow processes and policies to ensure support of client service expectations, continuous improvement and overall efficiency. You should have a good understanding of insurance distribution channels, the various tools utilized by distributors and the process interaction among insurer, customer/distributor and offshore team.

Job Duties and Competencies:

  • Assist underwriters to process their business in policy administration systems by working closely with the rest of the Middle Operations team and outsourced service provider.
  • Work with underwriters to understand their needs and translate those needs into tasks which can be supported by the operations team.
  • Assist underwriters with broker/intermediary interactions and reporting needs.
  • Ensure that the team meets and possibly exceeds service levels.
  • Work closely with different stakeholders to ensure Operations supports all administrative activities.
  • Manage customer interactions in an efficient, courteous and timely manner.
  • Provide constructive feedback to improve individual and group performance of the operations team.
  • Understand management reporting, information flow and organizational planning.
  • Work in close coordination with outsourced service provider to effectively transition, train and ensure accountability of their deliverables.
  • Provide support in projects for efficiency improvements as well as business needs.

Qualifications

Essential Requirements:

  • Matriculated or above.
  • Around 8 years of experience of having worked and led teams in the area of insurance policy administration.
  • Experience with managing projects will be considered favorably.
  • Breadth and depth of general insurance business.
  • Excellent communication skills both spoken and written to work closely with a diverse and regionally dispersed team.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style.
  • Open to direction and collaboration and commitment to get the job done.
  • Selfmotivated, flexible, independent, responsible, and able to work under pressure.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook.
