About FMAS:

The Federation of Merchants' Associations, Singapore (FMAS) is a non-profit organization that represents and champions the heartland merchants and hawkers in Singapore. We organize various events and programs to ensure our merchants' and hawkers' continued participation, learning, and improvement. FMAS works closely with Ministries, Government Agencies, and other stakeholders to drive initiatives to develop and enhance our heartlands.

The Objectives of FMAS are to:

  • Inject vibrancy into town and neighborhood centers.
  • Unite businesses in the community.
  • Uplift and upscale the productivity and competitiveness of our heartland merchants and hawkers.

About the Role:

We are searching for a highly experienced Project Manager/Senior Project Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the trade and associations industry or government-related experience, along with exceptional project management skills. This role involves leading and overseeing key projects, ensuring successful delivery, and contributing to the strategic goals of FMAS.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, execution, and closure of projects to ensure they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic initiatives aligned with FMAS's goals.
  • Manage and mentor project teams to ensure high performance.
  • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare comprehensive project reports, documentation, and presentations.
  • Oversee project budgets and ensure financial accountability.
  • Ensure all projects adhere to high standards of quality and compliance.

Other Scope of Works:

Develop and implement programs and strategies to enhance heartland businesses and advance FMAS.

  • Drive precinct upgrading projects and oversee planning and implementation.
  • Lead business development, marketing, and outreach activities for FMAS.
  • Contribute to membership growth and fundraising activities.
  • Manage online information, website, and social-media marketing.
  • Execute all other assignments delegated by the management committee.

Requirements:

Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of project management experience, ideally in the trade and associations industry or government-related projects.

Skills:

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on organizational skills.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
  • Adaptable to changing project requirements and environments.
  • Collaborative team player with a cooperative work approach.

Requirements:

  • Positive attitude and passion for heartland work.
  • Mature and responsible attitude with excellent analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experienced in digital marketing, social media management, and Canva.
  • Familiarity with project budgeting (P&L) and trade association work.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to implement strategies for desired outcomes.
  • Disciplined with project schedules and deadlines.
