Manage and lead two clinical teams: the first is dedicated to Clinical Coding and Terminology standards; and the second focuses on the research, creation and development of Clinical Tools and Classification Systems such as groupers, classifiers and patient segmentation.

Ensure synergy between these two teams and the pursuit of their joint strategic objectives.

Work in a collaborative manner with support from our data analysts to data scientists to ensure our Clinical Coding and Terminology uses are aligned with international standards, and that all our resulting clinical tools are world class and fit for the purposes of clinical risk management (ranging from cost containment to quality and clinical pathways).

The role is based in Singapore.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Oversight and daytoday management of the two abovementioned teams, to evaluate and recommend improvements to the current terminology standards and clinical tools including, but not limited to: coding for diagnosis/interventions/pharmaceuticals and surgicals; diagnosis related groupers, disease episode groupers, patient risk scores, disease staging tools
  • Research and develop/implement various clinical terminologies and ontologies (such as SNOMED-CT, LOINC, WHO ICD10, CPT etc.) for integration and enhancement for our clinical tooling.
  • Hold accountability for Amplify Health's regulatory compliance to company, industry and global terminology and tool standards
  • Developing and implementing worldclass benchmarks against which clinical codes facilitate effective systems and operational processes, across/between all business areas, as well as with external customers and partners
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements for relative indices such as risks scores, disease burden index and case mix that support our clinical tools
  • Provide clinical support in the analysis of claims data to derive actionable clinical insights
  • Create and assist in the development of Clinical Pathways for a range of products such as Condition Management, Hospital Optimisation, Palliative Care, etc.
  • Review the clinical appropriateness of product designers
  • Stay abreast of terminology and tool initiatives in international academic institutions and global organisations (e.g. WHO), in order to participate in such initiatives where it allows contribution to the great body of coding knowledge and maintenance of Amplify Health's competitive business edge and growth of expertise in this specialist field

Technical understanding

A working understanding of the data used in healthcare is optimal as data forms the basis of our products, as such the following core understandings are required:

  • Understanding of healthcare specific data
  • Reasonable competence in use of Microsoft Office suite of tools especially Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of patient health management, provider profiling, healthcare reporting, and other key healthcare technologies, etc.
  • Detailed knowledge and working experience of clinical tools and international coding including groupers, crosswalks and classification systems

The below understandings are advantageous however not required:

  • SQL, python, and advanced excel is
  • Understanding of advanced statistics, risk adjustment and health outcome indices and metrics
  • Knowledge of usage of data science in the healthcare space
  • Experience in Microsoft Azure (Databricks, Synapse, Data Factory, etc.)

Qualifications:

The following requirements are essential:

  • Graduate Health Care qualification required, preferably Medical degree with a minimum of 5 years of postqualification experience.
  • Qualifications or training in Health informatics, clinical coding or Health Administration would be essential.
  • Private health care experience within Asia, or more globally, would be an advantage.
