Job Description

THE ROLE

We have an exciting opportunity for a Fuel Oil and LPG Broker with proven and demonstrableexperience in a broking environment. This is amid-level experience role for a dynamic individual who has a passionfor the financial markets. You will be personable, tenacious and anatural networker, having a proactive approach to generating leadsand securing new business.

In addition, you will be well-organised, highly analytical andthrive in a fast-moving environment with a flat managementstructure. You are able to work under your own initiative and be anexcellent team player, able to adapt and fit in with close-knit desk teams.

Key responsibilities:

  • Promote FIS as a company; providing marketintelligence and analysis to clients
  • Arrange trades via voice broking on and behalf ofclients for execution at relevantexchange
  • Ensure all trades areexecuted on a non-advice / execution onlybasis
  • Reconcile and enter trades inTrade Manager and/or relevant exchange asnecessary
  • Maintain and enhanceexisting client relationships, making regular contact andtracking daily trading activities
  • Proactively solicit feedback from industry participants viatrade calls, surveys, industry events, trade shows andconferences
  • Produce a daily/weeklyupdate of market prices, market direction for internationaldesks
  • On-board new clientsfollowing correct Compliance and Operationsprocedures
  • Regularly assess clientneeds and financial conditions to identify internalcross-selling opportunities
  • Understand the desk's business strategy; identify and seizenew business opportunities relating to trends, future markets,products and clients
  • Performany other reasonable duties the company may require
Risk related responsibilities
  • Understand regulation within the evolvingregulatory landscape
  • Support arisk and compliance aware culture and comply with FIScompany policies
  • Exercisejudgement and act with integrity, due care, skill anddiligence and co-operate with the regulatorsand exchanges
  • Ensure fullawareness of and adhere to internal policies that relate tothe role or any relevant other activities
  • Observe standards of market conduct and ensure understandingand adherence to all regulatory, exchange or clearing houserequirements applicable to role
Training
  • Seek regular feedback from Desk Head to ensurerole requirements are met
  • Complete any mandatory training required by the company andrequired deadlines
  • Maintain own Continued Professional Development (CPD)
Requirements
  • Demonstrate experience in executionbrokerage in relatedproducts covering commercial clients (financial marketsor the physical markets) - essential
  • Deep understanding of price riskmanagement - essential
  • Robust quantitative, presentation, anddecision-making capabilities
  • Entrepreneurial mindset /self-motivated
  • Strong client focus; personable and engaging buildingrelationships and networks wherever possible
  • Degree in EnvironmentalSciences or Economics or related degree –preferred
  • Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues -essential
  • Tenacious and thrives in a pressurised environment –essential
  • Teamorientated; works well with others and diverse groups /personalities – essential
  • Excellent attention to detail; stronganalytical and numeracy skills –essential
