Job Description

We are in search of a highly analytical Finance Controller to join our Regional Finance team in Singapore, overseeing the core business in foodpanda APAC markets. The successful candidate will collaborate with various stakeholders across the APAC region, supporting senior team members in reporting, analysis, compliance, financial planning, and budgeting. Thriving in a culture of accountability and transparency, the individual must be responsive to the dynamic organizational needs. Attention to detail is crucial, coupled with strategic thinking to test ideas and lead impactful projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Support senior colleagues in monitoring single entities and consolidating APAC Financials results, contributing to monthly storyline creation.
  • Develop and maintain financial models for rolling monthly forecasts and annual budgets.
  • Assist local teams during Month End Close, offering guidance and tools for enhanced reporting accuracy and timeliness.
  • Monitor Key Performance Indicators and financial metrics, ensuring reporting precision.
  • Conduct variance analyses to identify and explain discrepancies.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate monthly/quarterly Management Reporting decks with thorough analyses.
  • Collaborate closely with the Analytics team, Finance Business Partners, and Accounting team to refine processes and policies for improved financial report transparency and precision.
  • Design, create, and implement automated financial control tools to uphold group controlling policies and ensure accurate booking in GL accounts.
  • Handle ad hoc tasks as directed by the manager and senior team members.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or Accounting qualification (CA, ACCA, ACA, CIMA).
  • Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience in Accounting and/or Controlling functions.
  • Demonstrate natural curiosity, a passion for learning, and a drive to comprehend the business, with the ability to initiate change within the organization through effective stakeholder management.
  • Strong numerical reasoning and logical thinking skills.
  • Experience in management reporting and financial forecasting is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with accounting principles, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), financial reporting, and financial modeling.
  • Effective communicator capable of simplifying and clarifying complex issues for stakeholders at all levels.
  • Hands-on problem-solving approach.
  • Desire to establish functional and scalable systems, continuously improving current systems and automating accounting processes.
  • Displays resilience in challenging circumstances, adept at handling ambiguity, and adapting to rapid changes in a fast-paced environment.
