Overview


As Procurement Category Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies within the devices category to drive breakthrough performance in cost savings and sourcing efficiencies while balancing this against the needs of the business stakeholders.


You will be required to lead negotiations with suppliers, manage supplier performance and relationships and drive various initiatives on Procurement process/operational improvement.


In addition, you will also manage key Initiatives projects related, but not limited, to Sustainability and Procurement Transformation enablement which included but not limited to educating the broader Procurement groups in enabling transformation efforts with the aim of optimising adoption and utility of the changes introduced.


You will also be focused on developing and managing procurement sustainability goals and responsibilities, create continual educational resources on sustainability issues, manage and track sustainability goals and metrics, engagement with internal & suppliers on sustainability matters, and keep abreast with trends and industry leading best practices for sustainable procurement.


What will your typical day look like?

  • Develop category strategies through spend analysis and partner with key business stakeholders to drive strategic sourcing.
  • Drive contract negotiations with suppliers with support from key stakeholders.
  • Enforce governance to procurement policy throughout the procurement cycle.
  • Provide market knowledge, intelligence and expertise while working closely with business stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Guide business users on procurement policy and practices.
  • Assist in the initiation of category management and sourcing strategies, implement optimum sourcing strategies with qualified suppliers to lay the foundation for procurement success and to achieve a maximum contribution to the operating result.
  • Possess strong analytics capability within sourcing function to enable detailed analysis of key categories and better support recommended spend and buy, flag issues and propose resolutions.
  • Identify programmatic ways to improve effectiveness and efficiency of the supplier engagement program across different tiers of the supplier base.
  • Engage suppliers and influence them to embark on the decarbonization journey and enable them to reduce supplier emissions based on Singtel's Green Procurement Policy
  • Identify Green Policies, Net Zero/decarbonization and Social, Governance best practices across Procurement space.
  • Mastery in Agile ways of working
  • Endtoend responsibility for development of enablement activities
  • Identify opportunities for consolidation of initiatives and combined solutions

Is this you?

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, or related field
  • At least 5 years of working experience in Procurement, Telecom or Technology industry preferred
  • Comprehensive understanding of the endtoend source to pay process
  • Possess a strategic focus with the ability to analyse, formulate and implement procurement strategies to significantly reduce costs
  • Knowledge in the use of esourcing tools such as Ariba and systems such as SAP will be beneficial.
  • Good writing/documentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills
  • Creative and hypothesisled problem solving, framing and communicating complex ideas, thinking strategically, excellent numerical and analytical skills
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership, proactivity, productivity, valuable contribution to a team, evidence of outperforming peers and exceptional drive and commitment
