DESIGNATION :
Assistant Admissions Manager / Admissions Manager, OAFA

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This position is for Office of Admissions and Financial Assistance (OAFA).
  • Assist to lodge appeals from students, parents, MOE, Member of Parliament (MP) and other external authorities. Compiling data on MP appeals in Admissions SharePoint for reporting purposes.
  • Updating applicants' information and documents on ISIS.
  • Processing requests from NSMen to change admission year. The change can be due to NS commitments, exemption from NS or fulfilment of scholarship bonds.
  • Assisting NSMen to prepare Disruption letter.
  • Processing requests for deferment which can be due to employment, financial situations, internship obligations or fulfilment of scholarship bonds.
  • Processing appeals for late acceptance or reinstatement of admission offers.
  • Work with supervisor on the admissions processes for SMU School of Economics. This includes handling admission interviews and corresponding with prospective students concerning interviews and change of programmes.
  • Oversee the matriculation of students and processing of student passes/results, to ensure that these are processed in a timely and equitable manner.
  • Assist supervisor to plan and execute outreach programmes to allocated schools in Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines and Thailand. These programmes include education fairs, admission talks, scholarship talks, selfbranding workshops, interview workshops and learning journeys.
  • Support OAFA key events such as Destination SMU, Scholars' Tea Sessions, SMU Open House and NSmen Early Matriculation.
  • Perform administrative duties that includes:
  • Sorting and distributing of mails for department.
  • Filing of miscellaneous documents.
  • Training admin temp staff
  • Reviewing admin temp staffs' wellbeing, learning progress and gathering their feedbacks after their job assessments.
  • Reviewing the SOPs for admissions duties.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma or Degree with at least 3 years of customer service experience.
  • Excellent communication skills and enjoy talking to people.
  • Demonstrates a potential for customer service orientation and ability to respond to different types of personalities
  • Meticulous, with strong administrative skills and the ability to multitask across different projects.
  • Strong interest in the higher education industry, as well as in engaging with preuniversity students and parents
  • Knowledge and interest in the tertiary education field will be an advantage.
