Are you prepared to embark on this journey? The Position We are currently looking for a Senior Manager, Contracts Management to join BW Offshore. This role will be located in our Singapore office. You are accountable for
  • Offer leadership, coaching, and supervision to functional CM staff, ensuring their appraisals, development, and training and fostering a collaborative environment with Supply Chain team members and all involved stakeholders
  • Plan, organize, direct, and control the Contract Management function and ensure optimal allocation of resources for the right opportunities within the contracting function to support Prospects, FEEDs, Projects, and corporate activities
  • Lead Projects, where necessary, oversee key contracts from start to finish
  • Manage and supervise the execution of contracting activities (Pre- and Post-award) carried out by the function, including sourcing, tendering, evaluation, award, contract and quantity management, claims, and closeout
  • Conduct senior level claim review, evaluation, negotiation, and settlements for key contracts
  • Develop and execute contracting plans to ensure alignment with the needs of the respective Prospect, FEEDs, or Projects
  • Implement client contract requirements and ensure client flow down provisions are incorporated into tenders, contracts, and contracting plans
  • Execute compliant contracting activities for Prospects, FEEDs, and Projects in line with the Company Management System's practices and standards and the established contracting plans
  • Manage contracting duties including negotiations, troubleshooting, and acting as an escalation point for issues with functional staff and various stakeholders and contractors
  • Ensure all necessary contractors are prequalified according to relevant procedures
  • Provide regular status and progress reports to clients, projects, and management
  • Develop extensive market knowledge including contractors, cost drivers, and risks as well as BWO requirements for key categories, and actively provide input to relevant Business Opportunity Managers and other colleagues as needed
  • Collaborate with the Sourcing Analyst to drive business intelligence for markets, cost drivers, and categories
  • Establish sourcing strategies and Frame Agreements for key categories as needed to streamline time-to-market and optimize solutions for prospects, FEEDs, and projects
  • Perform contract risk assessment for key categories and develop contract claims prevention strategies
  • Ensure involvement of Legal, Project Services, Cost Controllers, Insurance, Finance, HSEQ, and other departments in contracting activities where necessary. Develop fall back positions for commercial clauses. Work closely with Legal to balance risk reward optimally for all relevant contracts
Education And Experience
  • Hold a relevant degree or equivalent experience
  • A Legal degree or background would be advantageous
  • Ideally ten (10) years of relevant experience, mainly in contracting
  • Substantial experience in technical, contractual, and commercial issues related to design, engineering, fabrication, and constructions contracts for Offshore Facilities in the Oil and Gas industry (e.g. FPSO, Wellhead Platforms, Deck, Jacket, and Topsides Fabrication)
  • Extensive experience in claims management, claims prevention such as Extension of Time Claims, Disruption claims, and/or Quantum claims
  • Quantity Surveyor background is beneficial
  • International experience in the offshore oil and gas industry is essential
  • Experience with IFS, SharePoint, and other IT systems is advantageous
