Roles & Responsibilities

A Security Operations Executive is responsible for overseeing and managing the security operations within an organization to ensure the safety and protection of its assets, employees, and information. Their role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining security policies and procedures, as well as responding to incidents and mitigating risks. Here are the key responsibilities associated with the role:

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Security Strategy Development: Create and implement security strategies and policies to protect the organization from internal and external threats.
  2. Security Operations Management:Oversee daily security operations, including monitoring and response to security incidents.
    Manage physical security systems such as CCTV, access control, and alarm systems.
    Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure comprehensive protection of digital assets.
  3. Risk Management:Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability evaluations.
    Develop and implement security plans to address identified risks.
    Coordinate incident response efforts and disaster recovery plans.
  4. Compliance and Regulations:Ensure compliance with industry standards, legal regulations, and company policies.
    Maintain records and documentation related to security incidents and audits.
    Liaise with regulatory bodies, auditors, and law enforcement if necessary.
  5. Team Leadership and Coordination:Lead and train security teams, including security guards and cybersecurity staff.
    Coordinate with other departments, such as IT, legal, and HR, on security-related issues.
    Ensure staff is aware of security policies and procedures.
  6. Monitoring and Reporting:Oversee surveillance and monitoring systems to detect and respond to potential security threats.
    Provide regular reports to senior management on security operations, incidents, and improvements.
  7. Incident Response:Lead investigations into security breaches or incidents.
    Develop and implement response and recovery strategies to minimize damage.
    Work with external security agencies or law enforcement as required.
  8. Continuous Improvement:Continuously review and improve security systems, policies, and procedures.
    Keep up-to-date with the latest security technologies and best practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of Security Protocols: Expertise in both physical and cybersecurity practices.
  • Leadership: Ability to lead and manage a team of security professionals.
  • Analytical Skills: Capability to assess risks, detect vulnerabilities, and respond effectively to incidents.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with security systems like surveillance, intrusion detection, and cybersecurity tools.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for reporting and coordination.
  • Problem-solving: Quick decision-making ability in high-pressure situations.
  • Certifications: PLRD Rank SSO and above
