Desktop and Server Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Desktop and Server Support Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in End User Computing Devices (EUCD) support, ICT End User Computing, or Service Desk Agent experience, along with networking and system administration expertise. This role requires the ability to manage and maintain both desktop and server environments effectively.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in End User Computing Devices (EUCD) Support, ICT End User Computing, or Service Desk Agent roles with a background in networking and system administration.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in Microsoft Windows Server and Microsoft SQL Server administration.
- Ability to identify the likely causes of incidents escalated by Level 1 EUCD Support Engineers and apply known solutions to these more complex issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support and maintenance for desktop and server environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex incidents escalated by Level 1 EUCD Support Engineers.
- Ensure the performance, availability, and security of desktop and server systems.
- Implement and oversee backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures for both desktop and server environments.
- Monitor system performance and optimize as necessary.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of desktop and server services.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for both desktop and server-related issues.
- Stay updated with the latest technologies and best practices in desktop and server support.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong understanding of desktop and server environments and principles.
- Proficiency in desktop and server management tools and platforms.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
