TheSchool of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) is seeking tohire a skilled Project Officer to develop solid oxide fuel cells(SOFCs). This role offers a unique opportunity to work at theforefront of fuel cell research, focusing on the fabrication,synthesis, and characterization of materials for SOFCs. Thesuccessful candidate will play a pivotal role in supportingresearch, managing laboratory

KeyResponsibilities:
  • FabricationSOFCs.
  • Synthesize and characterize materialsfor SOFC applications.
  • Collaborate withexternal partners on SOFC research anddevelopment.
  • Assist the Principal Investigator(PI) in managing research projects.
  • Overseedaily laboratory operations, including experiments and safetyprotocols.
  • Supervise and mentor researchers andstudents, ensuring adherence to bestpractices.
  • Coordinate with vendors andtechnicians to meet the laboratory's technicalneeds.
  • Prepare interim reports, presentations,and documentation for ongoing researchprojects.


JobRequirements:
  • At least bachelor'sdegrees in a relevant field (e.g., solid oxide fuel cells, defectchemistry, high temperature catalysis).
  • Atleast 3 years of experience inSOFCs.
  • Proficiency in the fabrication andcharacterization of SOFCs, including TEManalysis.
  • Strong expertise in defect chemistryand solid-state Ionics.
  • Experience withmaterials characterization tools such as SEM, TEM, XRD, XPS, andFIB.
  • Excellent communication skills in English,both written and spoken for researchwork.
  • Ability to work both independently andcollaboratively in a teamenvironment.
  • Demonstrated experience in projectmanagement and laboratory operations.
  • Provenability to supervise and mentor researchers andstudents.
