Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Head of Tax to join our team and oversee all aspects of our organization's tax-related activities. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in Pakistan and international tax laws and regulations, as well as a proven track record in tax compliance, planning. Covering all aspects of tax including direct and Indirect taxes, the role ensures that any tax risks are minimised, efficient processes are in place to ensure tax compliance and that all reporting to tax regulators is accurate and timely

Key Responsibilities

Strategy

  • Ensure that Pakistan tax risk is well controlled and remains within risk appetite.
  • Provide tax advisory support & other relevant tax input to the Pakistan local businesses as part of the broader support to Business (Product) and Functional Tax Teams within SCB Tax functions

Processes

  • Operate the forecasting and reporting process for Pakistan corporate income tax.
  • Operate the tax compliance processes for income tax; and
  • Assist the regulatory reporting unit by calculating and providing the amount of input sales tax and sales tax withholding from payments to Vendor in respect of Federal Excise Duty and Provincial sales tax on services in respect of each of the Regulators.

  • Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations from their team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners
  • Ensure the provision of ongoing training and development of people, and the holders of critical functions are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles and effectiveness supervision is in place to mitigate risks
