Production Specialist

Overview

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Production Specialist to join the Data Center Power and Control Division Starline Team in Singapore. This position directs the manufacturing workflow and provides technical support to Production, Engineering and Customer Support. Responsible for the accuracy and flow of manufacturing (routing and materials delivered to each area). Optimizes the routing from bills of materials and drawings created in Engineering.

What Will You Do?

• Utilize ERP software to create optimized build of manufacturing.
• Identify opportunities to reduce lead time via routing improvements.
• Identify and integrate new sub-assemblies into existing BOMs where effective. This includes the creation of the sub-assembly BOM and documentation.
• Author intuitive work instructions to communicate to assemblers how to build product.
• Review manufacturing documents and system accuracy prior to production release.
• Utilize Infor ERP software to edit build of manufacturing (BOM).
• Complete thorough inspection of engineering drawing accuracy, including assembly drawings, wiring diagrams and manufacturing notes.
• Submit engineering change notices for erroneous BOMs and engineering documents.
• Coordinate with assemblers and department leads to identify correct material and routing.
• Set and maintain standard time, make spans for production efficiency and assist planners in scheduling jobs accurately, including earned hours validation.
• Coordinate with engineers to address outstanding EHD/EDA related to BOM accuracy, materials issues and etc.
• Lead and coordinate prototype builds by engaging cross-functional teams including Engineering, Planning, Purchasing, Sales, Testing, QA, and EHS to ensure the prototype is successfully assembled and tested to the design requirements.
• Communicate information with cross-functional teams regarding product design, quality, manufacturability and safety topics.
• Support production on productivity improvement, cost reduction and other continuous improvement projects from time to time.
• Improve manufacturing efficiency through guaranteed document accuracy.
• Enable Right First-Time manufacturing.
• Maintain expert knowledge of the production processes throughout the factory floor.
• Develop and sustain a working familiarity of materials used in the assembly of various product families.
• Initiate improvements to the build of manufacturing to achieve efficiency gains.
• Support operational procedures compliant to ISO .

Qualifications Education

• Minimum Certification or Diploma qualification in an engineering-related field.
• Minimum one year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Minimum one year of experience working with ERP software related to operations functions required, Infor CloudSuite Industrial (Syteline) preferred.
• Starline product knowledge experience a plus.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office, including MS Word, MS Excel.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Intermediate mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to read technical drawings and wiring schematics.
• Desire to learn technical writing.
• Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills both verbal and written.
• Familiar with production methods specific to electromechanical assembly.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

• Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting and typical office equipment.
• May require exposure to manufacturing areas where use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and hearing protection is required.
• Regularly required to communicate with others.
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
