The merger of Aviva Singapore and Singlife was announced in September 2020 and created one of the largest homegrown financial services companies in Singapore in a deal valued at S$3.2 billion. It was the largest insurance deal in Singapore at the time. Singlife was subsequently acquired by Sumitomo Life in March 2024, one of Japan’s leading life insurers, which valued Singlife at S$4.6 billion, making the transaction one of the largest insurance deals in Southeast Asia. Responsibilities Agile Environment Creation Work with team members to foster an agile culture within assigned teams. Apply Scrum or Kanban practices to support delivery and team development. Participate in knowledge sharing and adopt best practices from the broader agile community. Agile Methodology Support Encourage collaboration and continuous improvement within the team. Provide servant leadership and support team autonomy. Coach the team to improve scrum maturity with support from Agile Coach. Sprint & Outcome Delivery Facilitate sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives. Support Product Owners in backlog refinement and prioritization. Monitor sprint progress and help resolve blockers with guidance. Agile Capability Building Participate in the Scrum Master community and contribute to agile learning initiatives. Model agile values and support adoption within the team. Engage with stakeholders to promote agile practices. Timeframe Agile delivery is iterative and incremental, typically in cycles of 2 weeks.Expected contribution to team-level planning and delivery with a 6 to12-month horizon. Risk & Controls Ensure controls mitigate risks within tolerance levels. Report and elevate risk and control statuses appropriately. Resource Complexity Operate within policy and guidelines. Support team tasks including scheduling, coaching, and recruitment. Problem Solving Resolve delivery blockages. Team Management Provide leadership and mentorship to junior Scrum Masters, offering clear guidance, direction, and support to help them achieve squad goals. Foster a culture of agility, collaboration, and high performance. Oversee complex delivery initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and driving successful outcomes across squads. Experience Independent, resourceful and able to solve problems encountered in the Squad Strong bias to action and proactive in solving problems. Able to facilitate discussions among all stakeholders, both business and IT stakeholders, to resolve problems. A real time player who can foster strong working relationships with all stakeholders and able to handle tight timelines in projects delivery. Individuals should have at least 5 years of experience for AVP level and 10 years of experience for VP level, with a proven track record in managing people, managing squads and processes.
