Regional Automation and Robotics Commercial Lead

Regional Automation and Robotics Commercial Lead - Microbiology Applications (Pharma Industry) at Merck Life Science. We are seeking a dynamic and technically proficient Solutions Sales Lead to drive growth in microbiology applications within the pharmaceutical industry. This role leads commercial efforts for automation, robotics, and turn-key investment projects, including our Automation and Robotics Solutions (MARS), in collaboration with regional and global partnerships. This position is based in Singapore and requires regional travel.

• Sales Cycle Management: Lead and manage the entire sales cycle for automation and robotics solutions in microbiology, from initial customer engagement through to closing and post-sales support.
• Customer Engagement: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the pharmaceutical industry, including decision-makers, influencers, and end-users, positioning MARS as a strategic partner.
• Technical Expertise: Provide in-depth technical support and consultation to customers, demonstrating the value of our products with a thorough understanding of microbiology applications, automation and robotics solutions.
• Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the region, leveraging market knowledge and industry connections to expand our customer base.
• Solution Customization: Work closely with customers to understand their specific needs and tailor solutions to meet those requirements, ensuring optimal satisfaction and performance.
• Deepen Market Knowledge: Gather and report information on trends, competitor activities, and potential areas for growth, providing strategic insights to the sales and marketing organisations.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, product management (IPLCM), commercial excellence and marketing, to ensure alignment and support for business development activities.
• Presentations and Demonstrations: Conduct compelling presentations and product demonstrations to showcase the capabilities and benefits of our automation and robotics solutions.
• Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and pipeline status. Prepare accurate forecasts and regular reports for senior leadership on business development progress and challenges.

• Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications are a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of commercial experience in sales within the Life Sciences industry, preferably related to microbiology applications and/or automation/robotics. Experienced in managing high-value complex sales.
• Solid understanding of microbiology applications and/or automation and robotics technologies used in pharmaceutical applications.
• Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth. Ability to develop and execute strategic business and account plans.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to a diverse audience. Fluent in English; a second language is a plus.
• Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate with key stakeholders at all levels.
• Demonstrated ability to identify customer needs, propose innovative solutions, and resolve issues effectively. Ability to navigate complex sales cycles and influence decision-makers.
• Willingness to travel within the region as required to meet with customers and attend industry events.
