Overview Regional Automation and Robotics Commercial Lead - Microbiology Applications (Pharma Industry) at Merck Life Science. We are seeking a dynamic and technically proficient Solutions Sales Lead to drive growth in microbiology applications within the pharmaceutical industry. This role leads commercial efforts for automation, robotics, and turn-key investment projects, including our Automation and Robotics Solutions (MARS), in collaboration with regional and global partnerships. This position is based in Singapore and requires regional travel. What You Do Sales Cycle Management: Lead and manage the entire sales cycle for automation and robotics solutions in microbiology, from initial customer engagement through to closing and post-sales support. Customer Engagement: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the pharmaceutical industry, including decision-makers, influencers, and end-users, positioning MARS as a strategic partner. Technical Expertise: Provide in-depth technical support and consultation to customers, demonstrating the value of our products with a thorough understanding of microbiology applications, automation and robotics solutions. Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the region, leveraging market knowledge and industry connections to expand our customer base. Solution Customization: Work closely with customers to understand their specific needs and tailor solutions to meet those requirements, ensuring optimal satisfaction and performance. Deepen Market Knowledge: Gather and report information on trends, competitor activities, and potential areas for growth, providing strategic insights to the sales and marketing organisations. Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, product management (IPLCM), commercial excellence and marketing, to ensure alignment and support for business development activities. Presentations and Demonstrations: Conduct compelling presentations and product demonstrations to showcase the capabilities and benefits of our automation and robotics solutions. Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and pipeline status. Prepare accurate forecasts and regular reports for senior leadership on business development progress and challenges. Who You Are Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications are a plus. Minimum of 5 years of commercial experience in sales within the Life Sciences industry, preferably related to microbiology applications and/or automation/robotics. Experienced in managing high-value complex sales. Solid understanding of microbiology applications and/or automation and robotics technologies used in pharmaceutical applications.
