Position Overview The Head of Department – Marketing (HOD-Marketing) will be responsible for leading the institution’s marketing, branding, admissions, and communication strategies. The role focuses on increasing student enrolment, enhancing brand visibility, and strengthening stakeholder engagement in line with the institution’s vision and values. The HOD-Marketing will oversee a team that manages marketing campaigns, digital presence, outreach activities, and alumni relations, ensuring consistent messaging and measurable impact across all channels. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership Develop and implement the institution’s integrated marketing and communication strategy to attract prospective students and promote academic programs. Align marketing initiatives with institutional goals for enrolment, retention, and reputation building. Conduct regular market research to identify trends, competitor activities, and target audience insights in the education sector. Admissions & Enrolment Marketing Design and execute targeted campaigns to drive student recruitment at local, national, and international levels. Collaborate with the admissions and academic teams to develop marketing materials for various programs and courses. Monitor conversion rates throughout the admission funnel and optimize marketing tactics to achieve enrolment targets. Brand & Reputation Management Build and strengthen the institution’s brand identity across print, digital, and experiential channels. Manage public relations, media coverage, and community outreach to enhance visibility and reputation. Ensure all communication materials reflect the institution’s values, academic excellence, and student success stories. Digital Marketing & Communication Lead digital transformation initiatives to improve online visibility through SEO, social media, email campaigns, and digital advertising. Oversee website content, analytics, and lead generation tools to optimize digital engagement. Implement data-driven marketing strategies using CRM and marketing automation systems. Stakeholder & Community Engagement Collaborate with faculty, alumni, and student bodies to create engaging content and promotional activities. Build relationships with schools, counselors, corporate partners, and education consultants to strengthen referral networks. Support internal communication initiatives to enhance staff and student engagement. Leadership & Management Lead, coach, and develop the marketing and communications team to achieve departmental goals. Manage vendors, agencies, and creative partners to deliver cost-effective and high-quality campaigns. Oversee budgeting, performance tracking, and periodic reporting to the senior management team. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related discipline. Master’s degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred. 5-10 years of marketing experience, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership capacity, ideally in the higher education or vocational training industry. Strong understanding of student recruitment cycles, education marketing trends, and brand positioning strategies. Demonstrated success in digital marketing, content strategy, and lead generation. Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
