The Deputy Director, Finance will oversee the finance function for the development business of Frasers Property Singapore, ensuring accurate financial and management reporting, strong internal controls, compliance with regulatory requirements, and effective business partnering with project and development management teams. The role leads the finance team in budgeting, forecasting, cost control, project accounting, and cash flow management, while supporting strategic and operational decisions to deliver business performance. The role includes detailed review of assigned active projects and is expected to drive the future of finance through automation initiatives, new systems adoption, and continuous process improvement to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Responsibilities- Oversee preparation of timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and management accounts for development projects.
- Ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements, accounting standards, and internal policies.
- Maintain strong internal controls and adherence to group finance policies.
- Supervise project accounting for development projects, including tracking of project costs, revenue recognition, and progress billings, and establish institutionalized processes.
- Conduct detailed review of assigned active development projects.
- Monitor cash flow for development projects, ensuring sufficient funding for project execution.
- Lead annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes for development projects.
- Track and analyse variances, highlighting risks and opportunities.
- Provide insights on capital allocation, return on investment, and profit margins.
- Partner with project management, development management, sales and marketing, Finance Shared Service and Group Finance teams to provide financial guidance and decision support.
- Engage with external stakeholders such as auditors, bankers, joint venture partners, and consultants.
- Prepare financial presentations and updates for management, board, and capital partners.
- Supervise and mentor finance staff, ensuring effective execution of daily responsibilities and ongoing professional development.
- Review feasibility studies to support project evaluation and approvals.
- Champion finance transformation initiatives, focusing on digitalization and automation; lead or support implementation of finance systems and tools; drive continuous process improvement.
- Degree in Accounting or equivalent.
- At least 10 years of experience in Finance, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role and/or experience with Singapore residential development.
- Familiarity with SAP.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Analytical and problem-solving mindset.
- Teamwork orientation and ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
