Overview

Group Internal Audit (GIA) in Standard Chartered Bank is seeking an exceptional and dynamic Audit Manager to join the Third Parties and Operational Risk Team. This role provides exposure to auditing and risk management of Third Party engagements and the Operational Risk Management Framework at a global scale, with significant career development opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Act as a Team Leader, overseeing the planning and execution of audits, maintaining the audit budget, drafting audit programmes, audit issues, and the audit report.
• Act as a Team Member on assigned audit work involving Third Party Risk across the Group; support the Team Leader/Team Manager by conducting audit planning, fieldwork and reporting to meet budget, quality standards and timelines.
• Ensure scoping of audit work addresses key risks identified in risk assessments and audit planning, meeting regulatory requirements and GIA expectations.
• Escalate delays in audit execution promptly to HOA, auditee management and GIA management.
• Apply in-depth understanding of GIA methodology and system usage across assigned activities.
• Evaluate quantitative and qualitative data (including data analytics) to diagnose issues, patterns and root causes.
• Monitor and track audit issues and action plans, reporting overdue items to the Head of Audit (HOA) for resolution.
• Provide Third Party and ORMF subject-matter expertise to GIA audit teams; support continuous monitoring and raise issues outside formal audits to expedite remedial actions.
• Support updates to risk assessments to reflect changes in risk profiles and propose adjustments to audit plans as appropriate.
• Be prepared to raise issues outside the normal audit process when necessary and appropriate.
• Review management information and reports to stay current with business trends.

Key Stakeholders

• Designated business stakeholders related to audit assignments and portfolio.
• GIA stakeholders – team leaders, team members, team managers, Product, Functional, Country and Regional Heads of Audit.

Skills And Experience Our Ideal Candidate

• 7+ years of audit experience, preferably with Third Party risks such as Outsourcing, Procurement or Third Party Risk Management in a bank of global scale or Big-4 firm.
• Experience in vendor onsite reviews across various vendor services; familiarity with technology vendors (e.g., cloud) is a plus.
• Understanding of Third Party or Outsourcing risks across strategy, plans, products, performance and related issues.
• Strong leadership and experience in leading/managing audit assignments.
• Data analytics skills and experience preferred.
• Proactive in raising/escalating issues professionally and timely.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, manage ambiguity, and meet tight timelines.
• Ability to collect and objectively analyze information and apply critical thinking in planning, fieldwork or reporting of audits.
• Initiative, resourcefulness, willingness to learn, and ability to work across teams.
• Good time and project management; well-organized with the ability to prioritize and deliver to deadlines.
• Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) preferred.
