The Operations Supervisor (Housekeeping) role oversees the operational aspects of SPD's Hospitality Enclave Project under the Supported Employment Programme. This position ensures the smooth execution of the project, working closely with trainees, employers, and the supported employment team to help trainees achieve meaningful employment and independence for persons with disabilities.
Responsibilities- Project Implementation: Work with the supported employment team to operationalise and support enclave projects, ensuring timely implementation and completion within project timelines.
- Management of Trainee Challenges: Identify challenges faced by trainees and communicate them to relevant stakeholders for resolution.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to provide recommendations to improve trainees' performance and address issues during the training period.
- Attendance Monitoring: Track trainees' attendance to ensure programme requirements are met.
- Performance Evaluation: Conduct monthly goal-setting and performance evaluations of trainees and provide regular updates during routine meetings with stakeholders to ensure transparency and alignment of expectations.
- Worksite Liaison: Coordinate with trainees' reporting officers/supervisors at the project site to address performance or job-duty matters; promptly report incidents or issues for action and resolution.
- Meeting Attendance: Attend programme meetings to provide updates on trainees' progress and other operational matters.
- Work Schedule: Adapt to working hours according to the project site's requirements to effectively oversee trainees' activities and provide necessary support.
- Operational Support: May be required to perform the duties of a Room Attendant as necessary to meet operational needs.
- Additional Duties: Undertake any other duties as assigned by the supervisor to support the overall success of the supported employment projects.
- Minimum NITEC / Higher NITEC qualification; prior experience in housekeeping (room attendant duties).
- Experience in hospitality, job coaching, or working with people with disabilities will be an advantage.
- Able to recognize and resolve challenges at work with a proactive and solution-focused mindset.
- Observant and able to track trainee progress, providing feedback and guidance where needed.
- Friendly and supportive, with good communication skills to guide trainees in their roles.
- Proficient in computer skills and adept at using virtual platforms such as MS Teams for communication and collaboration.
- Adaptable to change and able to thrive in a dynamic environment.
- Self-motivated team player with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with stakeholders.
