A leading financial services firm is looking to hire a VP of Data Strategy & Architecture to join their dynamic data function. This leadership role will play a key part in designing robust data models that power core banking functions, regulatory reporting, risk analytics and broader strategic initiatives.

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned data professional who thrives in fast-paced, complex environments and is passionate about building scalable data architecture that drives meaningful business outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Partner with business and technology stakeholders to gather data requirements related to banking products, customer transactions, reporting, and analytics.
• Design and maintain logical and physical data models that align with key business use cases.
• Convert complex business requirements into scalable, efficient data structures that support both operations and analytics.
• Lead the development and continuous improvement of data marts, data warehouses, and integration layers.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure optimal deployment and performance of physical data models.
• Align data architecture with governance, quality, and metadata standards.
• Produce thorough documentation, including data dictionaries, data flow diagrams, and architecture designs to support regulatory, audit, and business needs.
• Contribute to data lineage, metadata, and data quality initiatives to enhance trust in enterprise data.

Requirements:

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field (Master's preferred).
• 10+ years of experience in data architecture, modeling, or data management, ideally within the financial services or banking sector.
• Solid understanding of data governance principles (e.g. DAMA-DMBOK).
• Proven expertise in building data models for banking, risk, compliance, and finance domains.
• Skilled in data modeling tools such as Erwin, PowerDesigner, or similar platforms.
• Strong SQL capabilities with hands-on experience working with large-scale financial data sets.
• Deep understanding of relational and dimensional modeling, as well as data warehousing and integration strategies.
• Familiarity with APAC financial regulatory frameworks is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and align with both technical and business stakeholders.
