You approach problems with a product mindset and are eager to wear multiple hats to drive the business forward.

Responsibilities

• Scope, design, and lead the development of critical infrastructure that extends Bitcoin’s security to decentralized applications and protocols.
• Evaluate and make key decisions on technologies, system design, and architecture, ensuring scalability, security, and performance in all solutions.
• Write high-quality, maintainable code and contribute directly to core systems and smart contract development, setting the standard for engineering excellence at SatLayer.
• Navigate complex technical challenges and make informed decisions that balance best practices, system constraints, and stakeholder needs.
• Work cross-functionally with product, design, and business teams to align technical solutions with strategic goals and user needs.
• Embed security-first thinking into every stage of development, ensuring robust and resilient infrastructure for the crypto ecosystem.
• Mentor and lead by example: Guide and mentor engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous learning.
• Have a strong technical background, including 5+ years of hands-on software development experience.
• Experience in architecting and designing full-stack applications and distributed systems.
• Deep understanding of blockchain fundamentals, cryptography, and decentralized protocols.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering scalable and secure solutions.
• Familiarity with smart contract development and security best practices, with demonstrated experience in designing, auditing, and deploying secure smart contracts.
• Experience with testing, debugging, and deploying production-grade applications.
• Proficiency in writing high-quality, maintainable, and efficient code. We work mostly in Go, Rust, Solidity, CosmWasm, TypeScript, and React. However, languages can be learned—we care more about your general engineering capabilities than your expertise in a particular language or framework.

Preferred “Qualifications”

• Prior experience working in the crypto industry with demonstrable contributions to projects, protocols, or infrastructure.
• Or experience in related fields (e.g., cybersecurity, distributed systems, fintech) with active involvement in crypto projects or open-source contributions.
• An active GitHub profile (highly preferred) or technical portfolio that highlights your work in crypto, blockchain technologies, or relevant engineering projects.
