As a Global Supplier Manager (GSM) at Micron, you will manage a large strategic supplier or suppliers and collaborate with team members across multiple categories to ensure high-quality supplier support when providing goods and services. You will drive supplier strategies to optimize cost, supply, and quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in commercial supplier qualification activities to ensure the commercial development of strategic suppliers
• Lead cross-category and significant company-to-company escalations; support category escalations for assigned suppliers as needed
• Serve as the center of knowledge for assigned supplier(s) and share knowledge with key stakeholders and category teams to enable effective planning, forecasting and execution
• Partner with the category team and stakeholders to build a comprehensive view of supplier performance
• Communicate key supplier management updates and decisions to multiple levels in the organization, including Executive Leadership

Cost Management & Analysis

• Identify and evaluate category-specific savings/revenue levers
• Drive category savings/revenue and scorecard metric targets
• Provide market intelligence and category price trends to internal stakeholders
• Utilize should-cost models for assigned categories that are benchmarked and relevant to the global marketplace

Negotiation

• Collaborate across categories to ensure unified negotiation plans
• Lead or participate in negotiations for contract extensions and renewals, renegotiation of prices, transfers, etc
• Lead sourcing events/RFQ processes into bundled negotiation
• Incorporate savings targets and contract requirements into negotiations
• Develop a contract strategy for suppliers in assigned categories and create, negotiate, monitor and enforce contracted terms and conditions

Business Partnering

• Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver strategic solutions
• Develop and maintain expertise in the assigned supplier(s) through relationships with Category Director, Global Category Managers, and Category Supplier Managers
• Drive a customer-centric approach to solving issues and representing Procurement

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement processes
• A relevant Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent experience
• Proven experience in category management and strategic sourcing
• Strong negotiating and analytical skills
• Strong communication skills and ability to effectively manage relationships with various individuals involved
• Advanced skills in material cost structure understanding and analysis
