Assistant Vice President, Platform and Client Engagement

Singlife is the exclusive insurance provider for the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Home Affairs and Public Officers Group Insurance Scheme. Singlife is also an official signatory of the United Nations Principles for Sustainable Insurance and the United Nations-supported Principles for Responsible Investment, affirming its commitment to finding a better way to sustainability.

The merger of Aviva Singapore and Singlife was announced in September 2020 and created one of the largest homegrown financial services companies in Singapore in a deal valued at S$3.2 billion. It was the largest insurance deal in Singapore at the time. Singlife was subsequently acquired by Sumitomo Life in March 2024, one of Japan's leading life insurers, which valued Singlife at S$4.6 billion, making the transaction one of the largest insurance deals in Southeast Asia.

Responsibilities
  • To grow the FA-Client accounts base for Propel:
    • Support our expansion to offshore leads acquisition such as Hong Kong, China and more countries in 2026.
    • Build own pipeline of leads for conversion through own network and engagement of online leads.
    • Follow up leads assigned (both onshore and offshore) and engage prospects to convert to FA-Client accounts for subscription of Propel platform and services.
    • Carry individual sales targets of:
      • Minimum 4 new FA-clients onboarded per year
      • FA-clients accounts onboarded and servicing to contribute to 33% of new-to-Singlife FARs
  • To service assigned and acquired FA-client accounts:
    • Support the FA-Client account servicing of current 10 FA-clients, and additional new FA-Clients that are converted.
    • Account servicing scope:
      • Regularly and proactively engage existing FA-clients to ensure a good relationship with FA-clients
      • Manage all communications with own FA-clients
      • Gather feedback from FA-clients to bring back to review with Propel tech team to assess for fixes or enhancement
    • Deepen relationship with existing FA-clients to onboard more support services with Propel.
      • Carry target to measure deepening of relationship – aim for getting 20% of existing FA-clients to onboard more services with Propel
  • To be trained as platform-user knowledge expert:
    • Have in-depth knowledge Propel platform from an advisor-user perspective and understand the features and functions of all the modules in Propel platform.
    • To support selling, training and onboarding of new FA-Clients.
    • Able to work with Propel tech to provide user requirements for enhancements and fixes. And to perform business live-verification for tech deployments.
  • To systematically onboard new FA-clients acquired by working with Propel tech.
Experience
  • In-depth knowledge of financial needs analysis and advisors sales process will be a plus.
  • Tech-savvy and able to work with tech-counterparts to provide user requirements, review user stories and perform business verification for features deployment.
  • Minimum 5-7 years in any of the areas of:
  • Insurance advisory sales; RNF certification will be a plus.
  • Relationship manager in a financial industry.
  • B2B sales experience, preferably in SaaS.
  • Experienced in a sales or business development environment with carrying sales targets; a proven track record in driving sales targets is preferred.
  • Have a network of financial advisory firms and advisors contacts is a plus.
  • Eloquent in English and Mandarin; able to conduct sales engagement in both languages.
  • Team player, collaborative and respectful of other team members.
  • Accountable, responsible and values integrity.
  • Resourceful and takes initiative (proactive).
  • Willing to learn and a fast learner.
  • Self-driven and constantly looks for ways to improve.
  • Good interpersonal skills and communicate well in both written and verbal communication; Eloquent in English and Mandarin.
  • Good presentation and sales skills.
  • Able and willing to follow structured sales processes.
  • Demonstrate ability to handle different clients.
  • Tech savvy and/or have interest in marketing activities is a plus.
Education
  • Academic: Bachelor Degree or Diploma
  • Professional Certification(s): RNF certified (will be a plus)
