Accounts Payable Specialist

About The Role We are seeking an experienced, collaborative and results-oriented individual to join our 10X team as Accounts Payable Specialist. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the accounts payable function within private or public industry, handling increased levels of operational complexity and transaction volumes. This role is an integral member of the accounting team, contributing to the accounting close and reporting process by ensuring timely and accurate payment of vendor invoices, managing the accounts payable close, and supporting the monthly and quarterly close processes. The position will collaborate with the Accounting team on processes and policies that promote scalability and support quarterly reviews and the annual audit process. Ideal candidates are self-starters, flexible, thrive in a fast-paced environment, excel at managing multiple priorities, and communicate effectively with customers at all levels within the organization and with vendors. Prior experience contributing to the accounting close and accounts payable processes is required. What You Will Be Doing Perform accounts payable processes, including processing vendor invoices and reimbursement requests for payments. Match invoices to purchase orders, verify invoice approval, and ensure all proper documentation is provided. Code payables with general ledger accounts and project/program codes; enter invoices into the Oracle Fusion Accounts Payable module. Verify timely payment processing in Oracle Fusion on approved invoices and ensure invoice documentation matches issued checks. Maintain and update vendor files by payee category (consultants, service providers, credit cards, staff reimbursements, regular vendors, vendor W-9s, etc.) in alphabetical order. Review and reconcile vendor monthly statements. Audit expense reports in compliance with corporate policies using Concur. Provide excellent customer service to all staff, vendors, clients, and internal contacts; communicate effectively with all levels within the company. Cross-train and perform other functions in the Finance Department as directed by the Manager. All other duties as assigned by the Manager. Minimum Requirements 5 to 10 years of experience in general accounts payable and performing the monthly close for private and public industry. Associate degree or higher. General knowledge of accounting practices, including processing invoices for payment, journal entries, account reconciliation, and analysis. Strong computer skills; Excel and Word (intermediate level). Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work in a team-based environment and take full ownership of assignments and responsibilities. Preferred Qualifications Accounts payable experience in the life sciences industry is a plus. Public company experience is a plus. Extensive experience with ERP systems; knowledge of Oracle Fusion is a plus. Knowledge of Concur is a plus.
