About the Electronics Engineering Team:

The Electronics Team in Product Development is responsible for designing and developing all electronic components within our devices. This includes component selection, supplier management, calculations, simulations, design, verification (including compliance testing), troubleshooting prototypes, and transferring designs to manufacturing.

The team collaborates closely with Project Management and other engineering disciplines such as Systems, Mechanical, and Software. They also work with departments like Product Management, Global Supplier Alliance, Quality, Regulatory, Medical Affairs, and Manufacturing.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership for electronic designs aligned with business priorities, including specifications and development of new products that could generate hundreds of millions in revenue.
  • Optimize analysis, testing, review, certification, and documentation of new electronic designs.
  • Ensure successful transition of electronic designs to prototypes and volume production at contract manufacturers.
  • Coordinate problem-solving activities, including root cause analysis, solution design, and validation.
  • Anticipate team challenges and implement proactive measures to mitigate project risks.
  • Engage with team members across the organization to ensure robust and optimized working methods and processes.
  • Coach and mentor engineers as a subject matter expert.
  • Identify opportunities for skill and knowledge improvement within the team and support organizational goals.
  • May involve liaising with and managing outsourced product development.

Qualifications and Experience:

Required:

  • An Electronics Engineering degree or equivalent, with extensive knowledge of electronic components and design technologies.
  • Significant experience in a product development environment creating high-quality, volume products.
  • Primary responsibility for successful integration and development of complex electronics at the board level, including transfer to production.
  • Ability to lead a team based on this experience.
  • Effective communication skills with team members, peers, managers, and external stakeholders, especially when facing development roadblocks.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of sensing technologies and diagnostic techniques.
  • Experience in the medical device industry or other sectors where product quality is critical.
