Senior Engineer, OT

Overview

Senior Engineer, OT at MODEC Offshore Production Systems (Singapore) / Offshore Frontier Solutions. Based at Metropolis, Buona Vista, Singapore. The OT (Operation Technology) Engineer works on billion-dollar scale projects to deliver the Digitalisation Strategy for the Facility. OT systems such as ICSS, Vendor Control Systems, Marine Packages, and Telecommunication interact with Enterprise IT systems. OT-IT integration enables data from physical equipment, vendor systems and devices to identify problems or increase efficiencies.

You will focus on connecting isolated OT systems to the Enterprise IT environment and coordinating data use into Advanced Analytics, AI, Automation, and other applications to improve business and operational processes. You will assist with developing and sustaining robust data handling and governance processes to manage tactical and strategic interactions between the Digital team and other business units.

Core Responsibilities

• Advocate, integrate and improve on existing technology change management processes.
• Develop, implement, and troubleshoot interfaces between Business Systems and OT Networks.
• Assist with scoping, development and management of OT projects.
• Assist with hardware lifecycle planning and standardization.
• Liaise with key stakeholders.
• Participate in project design reviews to ensure consistency with required business outcomes.
• Analyze OT and IT networks for opportunities to improve integration, network architecture and security.
• Provide architectural advice and input into selected Operational Application implementation projects.
• Design, document and deliver technical solutions to integrate FPSO OT Technology within company and client enterprise architectures.
• Communicate effectively with the immediate team, business subject matter experts, developers, analysts, engineers, end users, and management.
• Report to the Operation Technology Lead in the Digital & Analytics department to support global initiatives.
• Collaborate with the Tech Team in Digital & Analytics to build digital infrastructure and solutions in-house and with third parties.

Educational Qualification & Experience

• More than 5 years’ experience of hands-on control system design in the oil & gas industry.
• Broad understanding of Technology Infrastructure and Applications to support FPSO Operations.
• Understanding of Industrial Communications protocols.
• Understanding of Network design and infrastructure used in OT and IT realms.
• Aware of problems in conventional control system design and opportunities for digital techniques.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant Engineering field with strong knowledge of logic and/or programming languages.

Required Knowledge (not MUST, but PLUS; not all points required)

• Understanding of Cyber Security standards (IEC, ISO, NIST or equivalent). Certified competencies are highly regarded.
• Understanding of FPSO ICSS and Vendor Control Systems.
• Understanding of Operational challenges for integrating and managing OT systems.
• Understanding of data structures, data conditioning and manipulation.
• Understanding of Virtualisation, server equipment and SAN solutions.
• Understanding of EPCI Engineering Development Tools and Lifecycle Information.
• Good knowledge of systems engineering approaches, tools and their application.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant Engineering field with strong knowledge of logic and/or programming languages.
