Overview

Director, Global Talent Management role within Global Human Resources (GHR) at MUFG. The main purpose is to implement impactful, integrated global talent strategies that empower our people and the business, aligning talent with business plans to support a high-performance culture. The role collaborates with Global TL&C, HR Advisory, regional stakeholders and MUFG business lines to design, develop, and deliver talent solutions. The position may require global and regional engagements across AMER, APAC, and EMEA time zones.

Note: This role will work on global and regional engagements and flexibility is required to allow for meetings with clients and colleagues across time zones.

All Global Human Resources roles must comply with the location strategy of the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with HR stakeholders and business leaders to create innovative, evidence-based talent management strategies that align with and drive the organization’s strategy
  • Assess return-on-investment and impact scenarios, identifying and implementing talent strategies for future workforce requirements
  • Collaborate with TL&C Heads and HR Advisory to build a multi-year Talent strategy for Executive and Senior Management; facilitate high-quality conversations on Talent aligned to Organisation Design, Human Capital Planning, and other key people processes
  • Continuously improve talent processes, monitor KPIs/SLAs and propose mitigation actions
  • Enhance and optimize talent development initiatives, partnering with L&D to design and deliver talent programmes with measurable ROI
  • Provide thought leadership on Talent, Succession and Development to leaders and executives
  • Consult with HR Business Advisors and Leaders to understand priorities, design effective talent and development solutions, and participate in Talent meetings
  • Manage centralised/offshored Talent Management resources and liaise with HR partners to ensure Talent Processes are adequately resourced
  • Provide 1:1 support to senior leaders to create robust development plans for critical successors; advise on development tools such as job assignments, rotations, assessments, programmes, training, coaching and mentoring
  • Communicate the Talent Learning & Culture product suite to HR colleagues and leaders to drive collaboration and impact
  • Act as escalation point for Talent Partners as required
  • Identify opportunities for improvement within HR through diagnosis, external research and best practices
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory expectations of Talent and Succession planning within relevant jurisdictions
  • Leverage technologies to improve worker experience and resolve Talent Enablement requests
  • Respond to feedback using qualitative and quantitative information to inform Talent-related decisions and strategic direction
  • Stay informed of industry trends and best practices in Talent and the future of work
  • Deputise for Head of Global Talent Management as required

Work Experience

Essential:

  • Demonstrated experience managing a talent management function across international business
  • Experience working with senior leadership across multiple functions to build a talent-driven organisation
  • Experience managing projects with multiple stakeholders
  • Experience driving people-related change initiatives
  • Experience fostering a high-performance culture through talent and development initiatives
  • Proven ability to communicate and present to senior management

Education / Qualifications:

Preferred: A degree or equivalent professional qualification/experience in Human Resources or other relevant field.

Performance and Duties:

The role will be assessed under the employing entity’s performance framework with input from relevant entities. Duties may evolve and the role holder will perform other duties within the scope of the role as requested by the line manager or Department Head. Compensation and benefits information applies to candidates hired in the United States; other regions follow local market terms. The base pay range is typically $150,000 - $185,000, with potential for discretionary bonus and Total Rewards benefits as described in MUFG’s package.
