About the team: AI team in Goodnotes is transforming education and productivity using the latest technologies. We are building tools for Goodnotes AI and foundational technologies like subject-oriented handwriting recognition, with a distributed team across Europe and Asia. You will work on backend infrastructure for running our end-to-end AI technology, alongside other backend engineers, iOS engineers, machine learning engineers, QAs and designers. Technologies include large language models, math solvers, handwriting recognition systems, and a holistic data engineering pipeline for training and production data.

About the role: We are seeking an experienced software engineer to help build our AI and data infrastructure. You will work on the end-to-end data pipeline (production and training) and the infrastructure for training, hosting, and running ML models in production (cloud, on our servers, and on-device).

This is the role for you if you are excited to work on the following:

  • Build and maintain end-to-end backend infrastructure for training and running models in production
  • Design and build components within data pipelines for collecting production data
  • Data engineering for efficient ingestion of data for model training and evaluation
  • Help build and maintain compute training and inference infrastructure
  • Monitor production and set up alerting mechanisms

The skills you will need to be successful:

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience, with notable experience in data engineering
  • Experience designing and building data or training pipelines
  • Experience designing, building, and maintaining cloud infrastructure to support ML operations
  • Experience with LLM backend design and operation, including monitoring and optimization at scale
  • Experience with Python and understanding of ML ecosystem (e.g., PyTorch, ONNX, TensorRT)
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
