Role OverviewThe opportunity exists for a dynamic, motivated and experienced Commercial Manager to join the 54 team, to add value to our growth activities by identifying new commercial opportunities and managing marketing efforts.
The duties will include keeping abreast of trends and market conditions to provide strategic advice to upper management. The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial mindset, strong leadership skills, and be a creative strategist with excellent organizational abilities. The goal is to promote and expand the company’s commercial activity that will generate revenues and lead to sustainable growth.
The Commercial Manager will be supported by Senior Management and must be comfortable managing a variety of relationships and working across different cultures.
About We Are 5454 is a sports and entertainment agency operating across five regions and eight offices: United Kingdom (London), Europe (Sotogrande, Spain), MENA (Riyadh, Saudi Arabia & Dubai, United Arab Emirates), APAC (Singapore & Adelaide, Australia) and USA (West Palm Beach, Florida & New York). It works with rights holders, governing bodies, household brands and major investors who share its belief in the power of sport. 54 comprises three service areas each consisting of two divisions: 1. Strategic Advisory (Consultancy and Data & Insights), 2. Asset Optimisation (Operations and Commercial), 3. Activation & Engagement (Events and Marketing). At its core, the company has an unwavering belief in embracing the opportunities offered by pushing at the edges of conventional wisdom to turn the improbable into the unignorable.
Key Roles And Responsibilities- Develop and implement commercial strategies according to company goals and objectives aiming to accelerate growth
- Conduct market research and analysis to create detailed business plans on commercial opportunities (expansion, business development etc.)
- Understand the requirements of existing customers to ensure their needs are being met
- Act to acquire new customers and manage client relationships (new and existing)
- Identify opportunities for growth
- Contact (email, phone, face to face)

- Overcome any objections, concerns or reservations
- Close
- Collaborate with and coordinate diverse teams (marketing, sales, customer service etc.)
- Build and maintain profitable partnerships with key stakeholders
- Monitor performance of commercial activities using key metrics and prepare reports for senior management
- Assist in setting financial targets and budget development and monitoring
- Identify opportunities to optimise existing processes to support the Commercial & Marketing teams
- Support in the development of the framework by which pricing & promotions decisions are made; performance is continually tracked & decisions are retrospectively assessed
- Anticipate new business by keeping on top of industry trends and conducting market research to identify new opportunities
- Proven and minimum 5+ year’s experience as Commercial Manager or another relevant role
- Experience in selling to Asian businesses is essential
- Proven experience in sales and/or marketing and managing relationships with key clients
- Understanding of sales techniques and ability to demonstrate these
- In-depth understanding of market research methods and analysis
- Solid knowledge of performance reporting and financial/budgeting processes
- Commercial awareness partnered with a strategic mindset
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
- Autonomous self-starter with the ability to deliver in a fast-paced organisation with continual change
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Liaise regularly with all departments to ensure alignment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills at a professional level in English. Language ability in a second language is a plus.
