Overview

A leading organization is seeking a Database Reliability Engineer to join its Singapore office. This role focuses on maintaining, optimizing, and securing our database infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Deploying, configuring, and managing containerized applications using Docker and orchestrating them via Kubernetes or Docker Swarm.
  • Collaborate with engineering and DevOps teams to streamline CI/CD workflows, automate deployments, and optimize system performance.
  • Monitor system and application health, ensure high availability and security, and maintain infrastructure documentation.
  • Oversee database schema design, performance tuning, backup and recovery, replication, and disaster recovery.
  • Conduct capacity planning, manage migrations and upgrades, and troubleshoot database issues to ensure platform reliability.
Requirements
  • A degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in system engineering or database administration
  • Strong grasp of containerization (Docker, Podman), scripting (Bash, Python), and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI)
  • Experience in infrastructure automation (Ansible, Terraform), system security, performance monitoring, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Strong hands-on DBA experience including performance tuning, backup/recovery, replication, and change data capture
