Professor of Metabolic Health (LKCMedicine) Apply for the Professor of Metabolic Health (LKCMedicine) role at Nanyang Technological University Singapore ACADEMIC FACULTY APPOINTMENT – The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine A Full Professor of Metabolic Health is expected to contribute to the development of research and teaching at the School. The appointee will undertake high‑quality, internationally leading research in Nutrition, Metabolism, and Health, in line with the School's research strategy, and perform other duties as assigned. Key Responsibilities Conduct research in Nutrition, Metabolism and Health, obtain research funding, and supervise research staff and students. Teach and mentor medical students and postgraduate research students, using team‑based and e‑learning methods. Integrate Nutrition, Metabolism, and Health into the curriculum and ensure delivery of excellence, including team‑based curriculum delivery. Primary Activities Develop and sustain a personal research plan, write innovative proposals, manage research activities, publish in international peer‑reviewed journals, and review manuscripts and grant applications. Seek competitive grant and collaborative industry funding to develop a sustainable research programme. Support teaching and educational activities at undergraduate and graduate levels, and supervise graduate students. Collaborate with faculty in the Nutrition, Metabolism and Health Research Programme at LKCMedicine. Participate in academic committees and other administrative duties. Person Specification Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience MBBS/MD (clinically qualified) and/or PhD. Relevant postdoctoral experience. Significant world‑class track record in research and teaching in Metabolic Medicine, Nutrition and Diabetes Research. Management and Teamwork Ability to lead and work as part of a multidisciplinary team. Cooperative collaboration with medical and non‑medical staff. Supervision and mentorship of junior faculty members, research and clinical staff. Communicating and Influencing Collaborative and able to build and sustain effective working relationships internally and externally. Effective communication with staff and students. Ability to motivate others and strong presentation skills. Team orientation. Special Requirements Proven track record in international research. Leadership and driving change. Recognition of translating research findings into clinical practice and policy. Patient‑centred approach and familiarity with new technologies in education and patient care. In‑depth understanding of academic and administrative needs of internationally recognised universities. Network development at national and international levels. Time Commitment Full‑time, 1.0 FTE.
