- As a Strategy Support for Head of CFCC Governance at Standard Chartered Bank, your primary role involves proactively developing regulatory relationships with regulators in the Country through a structured engagement program. You will ensure that the bank's operations in the country adhere to regulatory expectations and Group requirements. Your responsibilities include setting and implementing the vision, strategy, direction, and leadership consistent with the vision and strategy for CFCC and supporting the Group's strategic direction and growth aspirations. It is crucial to promote a culture and practice of compliance with compliance standards within the Bank, conducting business within regulatory requirements and high ethical standards, and embedding a Here for Good culture and the Group Code of Conduct.In terms of business support, you will assist relevant stakeholders in making decisions based on current and future policies, practices, and trends. Collaborating with stakeholders, you will analyze the impact of regulatory compliance matters on the bank and its operations. Utilizing your general knowledge of business products in the jurisdiction, you will work with business compliance specialists to respond to regulatory questions and keep the in-country regulators updated on developments in the Bank.Your key responsibilities also include attending relevant leadership meetings, running Secretariat duties for various committees, providing senior oversight of the Country CFCC function, ensuring swift actions in case of serious regulatory breaches, and identifying and escalating potential risks and issues to senior management. Additionally, you will collate, analyze, and interpret data in reports for senior management and relevant governance/risk committees to manage emerging areas of risk and vulnerability effectively within the CFCC function.You are expected to display exemplary conduct by living by the Group's Values and Code of Conduct, embedding high standards of ethics, and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, and the Group Code of Conduct. Collaborating as a team player in the CFCC Governance team is essential to achieve outcomes aligned with the Bank's Conduct Principles.Your role will involve engaging with internal stakeholders such as Region CFCC, Group CFCC, Business, GIA, and GBS, as well as external stakeholders like RBI and Auditors. Risk management tasks include maintaining oversight of risk mitigating action plans, providing advice on risk management frameworks, applying Group and CFCC policies to manage risks, making recommendations on risk management responses, and ensuring the Bank's preparedness for regulatory exams and audits.Your responsibilities extend to developing, recommending, and managing policies/processes to address CFCC, managing relationships with regulators, monitoring regulatory developments, providing guidance on the application of banking laws and policies, overseeing the implementation of CFCC-related policies and procedures, managing audits/exams, and supporting control checks.The ideal candidate for this role should have a solid understanding of compliance policies and standards, compliance advisory, surveillance, investigations, compliance risk assessment, regulatory liaison, change management, and project management.
