Assistant Manager, Contracts & Procurement (Project) Job Description

Jurong Port’s multipurpose port operating expertise includes efficient handling of general, bulk, and containerized cargo, management and operations of the Tuas Offshore Marine Centre, and Lighter Terminals in Penjuru and Marina South. Besides Singapore, Jurong Port is involved in overseas joint ventures in China and Indonesia. In 2016, Jurong Port’s local and overseas terminals handled close to 35 million tons of general and bulk cargo, and 560,000 TEUs of container cargo.

The Job

  • Perform contract administration and management duties for contracts undertaken by Infrastructure Services.
  • Prepare tender and pricing documents.
  • Review project manager’s/consultant’s justification and prepare approval recommendations.
  • Assess payment valuations and advise on financial implications of variation orders.
  • Monitor budget and track project expenditures.
  • Ensure all work processes comply with SOP, policies, and audit requirements.
  • Assist the lead project manager in project execution.

The Requirements

  • Degree in Projects and Facilities Management, Infrastructure and Project Management, or Quantity Surveying.
  • Preferably experience in developer, consultancy, or main contractor firms.
  • Strong interest in contract management.
  • Good interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.
  • Organized with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Able to work under time pressure.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and computer literate.

Jurong Port Pte Ltd is a port operator headquartered in Singapore. It operates the only multi-purpose port in Singapore, handling bulk, break-bulk, and containerized cargo. In 2019, it handled over 40,000 vessel calls.

The port owns and operates a subzone in Jurong East, bounded by Jalan Ahmad Ibrahim, Jurong Pier Road, Jurong Island Highway, Seraya Avenue, and Sugnei Jurong, including Pulau Damar Laut.
