Overview

This position, reporting to the Head of Tax (APAC), is responsible for APAC entities’ tax compliance, tax provisions, direct/indirect taxes, tax controversy, transfer pricing as well as development and implementation of process and control procedures and leading strategic projects which support wider business growth within the region. This position will also interact with key finance, accounting, and other business partners across SHEIN.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for APAC corporate tax, GST/VAT, withholding tax and other compliance work
  • Provide tax advisory support and direction to internal stakeholders
  • Partner with Business, Accounting, Legal, Treasury and other functions to communicate, execute and protect various tax and non-tax initiatives
  • Lead and/or support local and global tax projects
  • Work in partnership with cross functional business teams for development and implementation of key strategic business changes, routes to market and reorganizations
  • Work in cross-border teams to implement and improve tax controls, policies, and processes
  • Research/monitor tax legislation changes and assess the implications to the Group
  • Manage external tax consultants
  • Any other works assigned by line manager
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance relevant field
  • Min 8 years of relevant tax experience
  • Strong work ethics, professionalism, and integrity
  • Adaptable, proactive, independent, resilient, and willing to learn
  • Great team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Able to establish relationships with diverse stakeholders across different cultures
  • Strong analytical and lateral thinking skills
  • Motivated by challenges and sense of adding value for others
  • Immediate availability is preferred; however, all qualified candidates will be considered.
Having the following experiences is a plus
  • APAC and international tax
  • More than just corporate tax (e.g. transfer pricing, GST/VAT, withholding tax, tax planning, customs duties and etc.)
  • Handling tax matters in a commercial environment
  • Familiarity with e-commerce, supply chain and fashion industry
  • Tax governance, frameworks and tax controls
